Dr. Stephen O達rien
Dr. O達rien intended to enter medical school after graduation, but he missed the application deadline by two weeks. Considering his options, he decided to apply to dentistry school, which turned out to be the perfect fit for Dr. O達rien, allowing him to use both his scientific and creative sides. Dr. O達rien received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from Saint Mary痴 University in 1973, and went on to complete a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Dalhousie University. Upon graduation, he took a position with the New Brunswick Department of Health, and in 1979 he opened his private practice in Moncton, where he continues today to provide patients with outstanding care.
Dr. O達rien believes that continual learning is essential to dentistry, and in 1992 he went to San Antonio, Texas to complete a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). The following year, he fulfilled a fellowship with the Academy of Dentistry International (ADI). Dr. O達rien received the Atlantic Canada Dentist of the Year award in 1995, and was presented the Award of Excellence by Millennium Aesthetics in 1999. He is a member of the New Brunswick Dental Society, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. O達rien also serves as a dental consultant for Atlantic Blue Cross.
Dr. O達rien was born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick. He and his wife have a blended family of six adult children and two dogs. In his free time, Dr. O達rien enjoys reading, skiing, travelling, and working out.
